VILLA MAROC.

 If the hotel looks as though it regularly features on the pages of Elle Deco or one of the fashion glossies, that's because it does. It is no surprise that the Villa Maroc is popular with the famous - it is splendidly discreet. Flicking through the visitors' book, I found an entry from Paloma Picasso: "I think I have at last found my favourite hotel - it's good to be bathed in light." The wonder is that it only gets three stars in the guide book. The reason? Because there are no TVs or kettles in the rooms and no swimming pool.
