The Rainbow is located in the very lively center of Copenhagen, right on the most famous of the many pedestrian streets, called “Stroeget”, by the City Hall and Tivoli Gardens, the well-known amusement park. Have a look at the map on the right.
Gay bars, clubs, cinemas, cafes and restaurants are merely a few steps away.
TRAINS
Our nearest station is Copenhagen Central Station (Hovedbanegaarden), but also Vesterport and Noerreport stations are within walking distance.
When you get to the Central Station there are plenty of taxis, if you have a lot of luggage. If you prefer you can walk, as we are an easy 5-minute walk away. Detailed instructions for arrival are given on request.
Copenhagen Central Station is the main interchange station for all train services in the Copenhagen area. Direct fast-train to and from Copenhagen Airport (12 minutes) stops here too. There are also long distance travels around Denmark available. Information hotline on all stations is available on telephone (+45) 33 14 04 00.
BUSSES
The largest bus line in Copenhagen is “HT”, telephone (+45) 36 13 14 15 or 36 13 14 00. Fast-bus (250S) to and from Copenhagen Airport stops at the City Hall Square - within a 2-minute walking distance. All main Copenhagen bus routes stop here too.
Cabs are easily available and they can be hailed in the street.
ROOMS
The 4 rooms are individually decorated and comfortably furnished to a high-level Danish-design standard. The rooms have clock radio and free tea/coffee making facilities. One room has private toilet/shower en suite. One room has private toilet/shower just outside the room. Two rooms share one toilet/shower. (In this bathroom you have a locker for your own personal things).
SERVICES
Free online Mac with E-mail capabilities is available for you in the reception/breakfast area. Also a direct dial cell telephone is available on request. Moreover we provide a Fax service and a DIY laundry/drying facility for a small fee.
In addition to these services, we have Gay Papers/maps available, to provide you with a guide to the Copenhagen gay scene.
Please let us know in advance if you have any particular needs, and we will try to assist you, be it theatre tickets, sightseeing tours, diet restrictions or whatever comes to your mind. Any allergies are also important to mention in advance (feather pillows, etc.).
SMOKING
Two rooms are non-smoking rooms. As for the two others we do allow smoking, but kindly ask you to keep it at a reasonable level, and not smoke in the reception and breakfast-areas or the shared bathroom.
CHECK IN - OUT
The check-in time is usually between 5:30 - 7:30 PM (17:30 - 19:30). Later or earlier arrivals must be agreed upon. Check-out time is usually around noon, but you can always leave your luggage by us, if you have a later flight or train.
RECEPTION
The reception is usually open only for breakfast and check-in/out. You have your own keys to the Rainbow. The continental breakfast is served at 9:00 AM every morning, except for the weekends where we all sleep longer and the serving starts around 10:30 AM. If you wish, you can have breakfast served in your room. Just let us know the day before.
GUEST POLICY
For safety and convenience of ALL guests at the Rainbow we highly recommend that you do NOT invite persons that you don't know.
